Participants will leave knowing all of the benefits of meditation, different ways that it can be used for different concerns (anxiety, mood issues, perfectionism, etc), additional meditation resources and strategies for daily practice. The full 8 week program is $250; can be paid upfront or in installments. Pre-screening intake is required; Self-pay, BCBS PPO and Medicare accepted for intake.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an empirically supported treatment that helps you process disturbing thoughts and memories that underlie many pathologies (PTSD, feelings of inadequacy, perfectionism, depression, anxiety), providing profound effects in a short amount of time. http://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr/

About

Kathryn Brandenborg

I specialize in working with developmental/relational trauma (very difficult childhoods, parents who struggled with their own mental health issues, substance abuse or personality disorders), sexual abuse survivors, women's issues (infertility, unhealthy/abusive relationships, poor self image, postpartum issues, etc.) major life transitions and emotional eating/binge eating disorder.

I am integrative in my approach to therapy and work to honor the uniqueness of each person I work with. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and attachment-based therapies, which seek to help better understand how the past may be influencing the present. By gaining insight and increasing self-awareness, you can both better understand how you came to be and make the changes necessary for creating the life you'd like to live. I also make use of approaches that can offer more immediate relief of the symptoms that may be bringing you into therapy in the first place. I have training in meditation/mindfulness practice, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which all can offer various strategies for better managing emotions, thoughts, and relationships.
